Need to add your keywords to a project? The Quick Add modal in the Keyword Census is the fast and easy way for adding new keywords. This video will show you everything you need to know.

The Keyword Census is where you will add to and maintain your keyword database. Every keyword that is entered must have at least the MSV (monthly search volume) associated with it.  Additionally, you can choose to add relevancy score and the mapping URL at the time of adding keywords (or choose to map and score these later)

• MSV (required)— the average monthly search volume of that keyword
• Mapped URL (optional)— the URL the keyword is assigned to, and this must be an existing URL in Audience Key (but it does not have to be an existing URL on your website)
• Relevancy score (optional)— set by you and ranging from 1 – 5, where 5 indicates a keyword that is highly relevant to this URL and a 1 is low relevance 

 In a spreadsheet of any type, make 4 columns in the order as shown:

Copy this spreadsheet table with the keywords you want to add to your clipboard (do not include the header) – Once you have your spreadsheet ready to go, follow the next 4 steps:

1. In the Keyword Census, click on the Action Button — Modifications and select Add Keywords
2. The Keyword Quick Add window will appear
3. To import the keywords from your clipboard, click on the gray area 
4. Click the Add Keywords button

Want to Just Add Keywords without Mapping?

You can just add the first two columns:  Keyword, and MSV, and from there add the keywords

• You can map and score later
• Or take advantage of using the bulk update feature in the KW Quick Add modal to then assign a mapped URL and Rel Score
  • You can even create a new URL on the fly by writing in a new URL in the mapped URL bulk update box

Notes

• If the URL you are mapping to does not already exist in your URL census, it will be added
• The mapping URL must match properly the full URL path of your project web properties.
  • If for example, you map to acme.com/blog/really-cool-idea/ your addition will not go through. It must include the full URL path https://acme.com/blog/really-cool-idea/
• You can add a maximum of 250 keywords at a time. 
• If you need to do a large number of keywords consider using the keyword import tool inside the Data section of the system.
• Any keyword phrases that are added which already exist will be skipped (to avoid duplication). After adding, a filtered view will appear of any duplicate keywords, from there you can update or remap if you wish.
